Your website, working the portal's shift.

Every day your own website gets visitors who never touch home.co.uk. Widgets puts a branded valuation box, buyer-match box or referral panel on that same site — one script tag, portal-grade data underneath — so the traffic you already own starts turning into leads instead of just page views.

How Widgets works

Six steps from blank page to first lead.

Building a widget is a short, guided flow — pick a type, brand it, write the words, and copy one snippet onto your own site.

1

Choose a widget type

Valuation Request captures a lead against a postcode. Buyer Matches captures a search and shows a live matching-homes count. Service Referral promotes Homemove's mortgages, conveyancing and other services from the existing Referrals tool. Five more types — Area Data, Property Map, Property Listings, Contact Form and Market Statistics — are coming soon; subscribe from the same screen and you're notified the moment one ships.

2

Brand it — it starts from your own colours

Primary, secondary, text and background colour, your logo and one of 9 fonts default straight from your branch's own brand profile, so the first version is already close. Pick a corner-radius style (square, rounded or pill), a hero treatment (gradient, solid or subtle), and a hero image with a draggable focal point if the widget type uses one.

3

Write the words, or let AI draft them

A brand-voice detector reads your branch's profile, suggests a tone — professional, friendly, premium and the rest — and drafts a headline, subheadline, call-to-action and a set of value props to match. Edit any of it, or ignore the suggestion and write your own from a blank field.

4

Lock it to your own domain, if you want to

An optional allowed-domains list — including wildcard subdomains like *.yourbranch.co.uk — stops a widget rendering anywhere except your own site. Leave it blank and there's no restriction at all; either way the choice is yours, not a default you have to fight.

5

Copy one snippet onto your site

An async <script> tag with a data-widget-id attribute builds its own container and iframe wherever you paste it — or use the plain <iframe> alternative if that's what your site builder prefers. Either way the embed resizes itself to fit its content via a background postMessage handshake, so it never clips or leaves dead space.

A visitor lands, types a postcode, and becomes a lead — on your own domain

Every step of this sequence — search, teaser, submission — is logged as its own analytics event against the widget.

6

Every visit gets logged, from the first one

The moment your embed goes live, every view, click, form submission and conversion is recorded against that widget, with the visitor's referring domain — so you can see exactly which page on your own site is doing the work.

The traffic you already have

Your own website already gets visitors. Most of them just leave.

A vendor googles your branch name, lands on your homepage, and finds a phone number and an "About Us" page. That's not a valuation flow — it's a dead end with your logo on it.

Without Widgets

  • ·A "get a valuation" link that just dials a phone number or opens a generic contact form
  • ·No idea which page on your own site is actually sending you anything
  • ·A vendor who wanted an instant number closes the tab instead

Real traffic, no capture, no data on any of it.

On Widgets

  • ·A branded valuation box, right there on your homepage, running the same lookup as the portal
  • ·A per-page, per-domain breakdown of exactly what's converting
  • ·A lead in your branch's inbox, and an AI valuation report link in the vendor's

The same visitor, captured instead of lost.

From brand kit to inbox

Three moments. One evening.

Building and shipping a widget doesn't need a sprint — it fits in the gaps around everything else you're already doing.

1 · Brand it

Starts from your own colours

Colours, logo and font default from your branch's own brand profile. Tweak anything, or leave it exactly as suggested.

2 · Embed it

One snippet, pasted once

Copy the script tag or iframe into your site builder's embed block. No plugin install, no page rebuild, no developer ticket.

3 · Leads land

Straight into your inbox

Every submission routes to your branch on the same lead pipeline as the rest of the platform — nothing separate to check.

Analytics on every interaction

Not just "it's embedded." Proof it's working.

Every visitor who sees, clicks or submits your widget leaves a logged event — aggregated in one pass so the dashboard stays fast, even on a busy branch site.

What you can build today

Three widgets. One embed each.

Valuation Request

A visitor types a postcode, picks their address, confirms property type and bedrooms. A comparable-count teaser builds intrigue before they hand over contact details — then submission runs the same comparable-finder and AI valuation council as the main platform, and hands the vendor a shareable report link.

Default height ~450px

Buyer Matches

A visitor sets an area, budget, bedrooms and property type. They see a live matching-listings count and, where the area is large enough to stay anonymous, an indicative likely-movers figure — never an address, a specific home or a household. Behind the scenes it lands on the same lead pipeline as every other enquiry.

Counts only, k-anonymity gated

Service Referral

Promotes Homemove's mortgages, conveyancing, surveys, removals, broadband, energy, home insurance and estate-agent services on your own site. This one isn't built field-by-field in the widget creator — you switch it on and share it from the existing Referrals tool, and every click is tracked for commission attribution.

Managed from /referrals

Brand it to match your site

Not a bolt-on box. Your box.

A widget that looks like a stock plugin gets ignored. Every control here exists so the finished panel reads as part of your site, not a portal advert sitting on top of it.

  • Four brand colours — primary, secondary, text and background — defaulted from your branch's own brand profile on your first widget, then adjustable per widget after that.
  • 9 fonts — Inter, Open Sans, Roboto, Lato, Montserrat, Poppins, Playfair Display, Merriweather and your system default — auto-mapped from your existing brand typography where possible.
  • Corner radius and hero style — square, rounded or pill corners; a gradient, solid or subtle-tint header — so the widget can sit sharp-edged next to a corporate site or soft and rounded next to a boutique one.
  • A hero image with a draggable focal point — up to 10 images, picked from your own recent listing photos or uploaded fresh, cropped exactly where you want the eye to land.

Trust by design

Data handled the way a portal should.

A widget sits on your site, but the discipline behind it is the same one that runs home.co.uk itself.

No raw property IDs in the browser

Address picker results carry an encrypted property token, not the underlying UPRN. The token is only decoded server-side on submission, so a stray page inspection never exposes a raw property identifier.

Consent before capture

The valuation and buyer forms both hard-require a consent tick before submission is accepted, and that consent is recorded at the moment of capture — not assumed retroactively if the visitor happens to convert later.

Never a household, on Buyer Matches

The likely-movers count only ever surfaces once the underlying number clears a k-anonymity floor — the exact same street-size threshold used elsewhere on the platform. Below that floor, the figure is suppressed entirely rather than shown small enough to re-identify a home.

A hashed IP, never a raw one

The visitor's IP address is one-way hashed against your account's own key before it's stored against a widget event — enough to spot abuse patterns, not enough to be a stored identifier.

Domain-checked before it even renders

If you set an allow-list, the widget checks the visitor's referring domain — including wildcard subdomain matches — before it renders at all, not after a lead has already been captured.

A failed lead is never a lost one

The lead is captured before AI valuation generation even starts. If report generation fails for any reason, the visitor still gets a clear message and the lead still lands in your inbox — nothing silently drops.

A day in the life

One visitor, start to lead.

How a homeowner researching a move ends up as a valuation lead — without ever leaving your homepage.

Hook

A headline that isn't generic

She lands on your homepage after searching your agency's name. Instead of a phone number, she sees your widget's headline and CTA — in your own colours, your own font, your own words — offering an instant estimate for her postcode.

Engage

Postcode, address, a little intrigue

She types her postcode and picks her address from the list. Before asking for contact details, the widget shows a teaser — "We found 14 comparable properties near you" — built from the same comparable-finder that powers the main site, so the ask feels earned rather than cold.

Payoff
Under 2 min

from postcode to a lead in your inbox

She confirms property type and bedrooms, adds her name, email and phone, ticks consent. The lead lands with your branch immediately; the AI valuation council runs in the background and hands her a shareable report link — and the whole exchange happened on your homepage, not the portal's.

Who uses Widgets

Whoever owns the branch's own front door.

Solo agents with a WordPress or Squarespace site

No developer, no CRM integration budget, and a homepage that's otherwise just a brochure. Pasting one script tag into a site builder's embed block is the whole install — no plugin marketplace, no monthly per-seat fee for a separate widget vendor.

Branch and franchise teams with an in-house site

A marketing lead sets the widget's branding once from the branch's brand profile, then a developer or site editor drops the same embed into every relevant page — homepage, valuation landing page, a franchise network's shared template — each widget tracked separately.

Pricing, plainly

Included with your agent account.

There's no separate fee to build or embed a widget — Widgets is part of your home.co.uk agent account, on the same login as the rest of the toolkit. Create as many widgets as you need, on as many pages of your own site as you like.

Leads captured through a widget flow into the same branch pipeline as any other enquiry, so there's nothing extra to reconcile at month end — one inbox, whichever door the vendor walked through.

FAQ

Common questions about Widgets

What exactly does a Widgets embed do?

It drops a small, fully branded panel onto your own website — a valuation box, a buyer-match box, or a Homemove service panel — powered by the same postcode search, comparables and address lookup as the main home.co.uk site. One script tag or iframe, no page rebuild.

Do I need a developer to install it?

No. The embed is a single line — either an async <script> tag with a data-widget-id attribute, or a plain <iframe> if your site builder prefers that — copied straight from the widget's page in your dashboard into wherever your site lets you paste HTML.

Will it actually match my branding, or look bolted on?

Every widget carries its own primary, secondary, text and background colour, your logo, one of 9 fonts, a corner-radius style and a hero image with a draggable focal point. When you create your first widget these default to your account's own brand profile, and an AI brand-voice step suggests a matching tone, headline, subheadline and call-to-action you can edit or discard.

Can I restrict which sites a widget works on?

Yes, optionally. Set an allowed-domains list — including wildcard subdomains like *.yourbranch.co.uk — and the widget checks the visitor's referring domain before it renders. Leave it empty and the widget has no domain restriction at all.

What happens to a visitor's details when they submit the valuation box?

Consent is required before anything is stored. The postcode, address, property details and contact information become a lead on the same valuation pipeline as the rest of the platform, routed to your branch, with the visitor's IP hashed rather than stored raw and the underlying UPRN never exposed to the browser as a plain value.

Does the valuation widget give a real AI valuation, or just capture an enquiry?

Both. The lead is captured first, so nothing is lost if generation is slow or briefly unavailable. Then the same comparable-finder and AI valuation council used on the main site runs against the submitted property, and the visitor is handed a shareable link to a full AI valuation report.

What does the Buyer Matches widget actually reveal to a visitor?

Counts only. A visitor searching for a 3-bed semi under a set budget in an area sees how many current listings match and, where the figure is large enough to stay anonymous, an indicative count of homes likely to come to market — never an address, a specific property, or a household.

Is the Service Referral widget something I build, or something that just exists?

It isn't built in the widget creator like the other two — it's a panel that promotes Homemove's mortgages, conveyancing, surveys, removals, broadband, energy and home insurance services, with clicks tracked for referral commission. You switch it on and share it from the existing Referrals tool rather than configuring it field by field.

Can I run more than one widget?

Yes. Create as many as you need — a valuation box for the homepage, a buyer-match box for a search-tips page — each with its own name, branding and analytics. You can duplicate an existing widget as a starting point rather than rebuilding the branding from scratch.

What analytics do I actually get?

Every view, click, submission and conversion is logged per widget, with a 30-day daily breakdown and a top-referring-domains list, so you can see which page on your own site is actually sending you leads. Figures are aggregated with a single database query, so the dashboard stays fast even on a busy widget.

Does it slow my website down?

The script embed loads asynchronously and only builds its iframe after your page has otherwise loaded; the iframe itself is set to lazy-load. Nothing in the embed blocks your page's own rendering.

What about the widget types marked coming soon?

Area Data, Property Map, Property Listings, Contact Form and Market Statistics are on the roadmap but not yet in the widget creator. You can subscribe to be notified the moment any of them ships, from the same screen where you'd normally build a widget.
