A diary that fills itself.
Keep one diary true — working hours, leave, the jobs you already have — and the platform does the rest. Homemovers book real open slots straight in at a fixed fee, travel between inspections is measured on real roads, and the handful of jobs that need a human yes wait politely in your requests inbox.
How the diary works
Six steps from empty week to booked week.
Availability management for surveyors shouldn't mean a diary in one hand and a phone in the other. Set the diary up once; after that, every step below happens without you.
Set your coverage
Tell us the outcodes each surveyor covers and the survey types they're qualified for, from the Bookings CRM. Coverage is per person, not per firm — a Level 3 in one patch never lands on someone who only covers Level 2s across town. This is the foundation the live diary runs on.
Shape your weeks
Each surveyor sets their own working hours, day by day. Each survey type gets its own timeblock — how far ahead it can be booked, its default duration, which weekdays it runs and any fixed travel buffer either side. Book leave in advance; log sickness on the day. Both block bookings for that surveyor only, and firms can set timeblock policies across the whole team.
The diary computes real availability
No availability form, no separate listing. The diary takes each surveyor's working hours, subtracts everything that blocks time — booked inspections, leave, sickness, holds, admin blocks, imported external events — and what's left becomes nominal one-hour slots. Times already gone today are excluded automatically. Keep the diary true and the slots take care of themselves.
A homemover books a real slot
Inside the booking flow — never on a public page — the customer sees actual open times from your diary and picks one. The fee is fixed and locked at the moment of booking, and their payment is already moving before you've heard about the job. What they book is exactly what you turn up to deliver.
Real open slots from the surveyor’s diary
What they book is what you turn up to
The job lands on the day it happens
The booking appears in the right surveyor's diary at the booked time with the property, survey type and postcode attached. Clash protection means the same slot can never be sold twice — to any surveyor on the team — and the drive to it is measured on real roads, not hoped for.
The rest wait in Requests
Not every job fits a slot that books itself. When a customer asks about availability instead of picking a time, the request lands in your requests inbox with their preferred dates attached. Offer dates in a tap, or decline with a reason — and if a request waits 24 hours, your dashboard nudges you before the customer ever has to chase.
Watch a week fill itself
You keep the diary true. The bookings do the rest.
An illustrative week. Instant bookings drop into open slots, travel shading appears around each inspection, and the requests tray drains to zero as each one gets its human yes.

Each request arrives with the survey type, property and the customer’s preferred dates. Offer dates or decline with a reason — either way, they get an answer.
All bookings shown are illustrative — generic survey types and outcodes only. Your real diary shows your real jobs, with the property attached to each one.
One honest diary
Nine event types. Zero guesswork.
A bookable slot is only worth offering if everything that isn't free is recorded. The diary understands the whole shape of a surveying week — and every one of these blocks bookings the moment it exists.
The requests inbox
The jobs that need a human yes wait politely.
When a homemover asks about availability instead of picking an open slot, nothing is committed to your diary without you. The request arrives with the survey type, the property and their preferred dates — and it waits in one place, not on a voicemail.
Offer dates in a tap
Pick one or more dates you can do — today or later — and the customer is notified to choose the one that suits. The moment they pick, the job books in.
Decline with a reason
Not a fit? Say why in a sentence. The customer gets a clear answer instead of silence, and the request closes rather than sitting open against your firm.
The 24-hour nudge
A request left unanswered for 24 hours is flagged in the Needs Attention panel on your dashboard, with how long it's been waiting. Your inbox carries a live count of everything unanswered — so a customer waiting on a human answer is never waiting on you by accident.
1 · The homemover asks
“Level 2 on a semi in HU5 — when could you do it?”
2 · Lands in your Requests inbox
Left unanswered 24 hours, it flags on your dashboard — nothing slips
3 · You answer in a tap
4 · They pick — booked into the diary
Wed 13 · 10:30 · property attached · fee locked
What a live diary buys you
The mornings come back.
Phone tennis is a job you were never paid for. When the diary answers for itself, the day starts with coffee — not callbacks.
1 · The old diary
Retire the ring-around
The paper diary was honest but silent — every booking meant a call, a check, a call back. Keep the ritual if you love it; stop needing it.
2 · Any morning
Glance, don't negotiate
The week is already arranged — bookings placed in real slots, travel accounted for, requests answered in a tap. You look at the diary; you don't manage it.
3 · On the doorstep
Arrive when you said
The slot the customer booked is the slot you turn up to — with the drive measured on real roads, not optimism. Punctuality becomes a system, not a scramble.
Travel, measured
The drive is part of the day.
A diary that ignores the A-road between two inspections isn't a diary — it's a wish list. Travel is measured, buffered and visible.
Illustrative day. The route runs base → bookings in time order → base, each leg a verified drive — and repeated journeys are cached, so re-checking costs nothing.
Real roads, not straight lines
The drive between consecutive bookings — and the commute from your base at each end of the day — is measured as a verified road journey, so the plan reflects the A-road, not the crow.
Buffers where you want them
Prefer fixed padding? Each survey type can carry its own travel buffer — up to 240 minutes before and after — set alongside its duration and booking window.
Travel you can see
Travel is a first-class diary event type. The drive can sit visibly in the week between inspections — planned time, not invisible time that surprises everybody at 4pm.
Team diaries
Every surveyor their own diary. The firm, one view.
A multi-surveyor firm doesn't share one calendar and hope. Hours, coverage, leave and clashes are handled per person — and the firm watches it all in a single swimlane.
Hours & leave per person
Each surveyor sets their own working hours, books their own leave and logs sickness — blocking bookings for them alone, never the whole firm.
Coverage per person
Outcodes and survey types are set per surveyor, so jobs route to the person who actually covers that patch and product.
The team swimlane
A firm-wide availability view: every surveyor side by side, free slots and blocked time per day. Cover decisions get made by looking, not ringing round.
Clash protection, firm-wide
A slot already taken — by a booking, a hold, leave or sickness — can't be booked again for anyone. Nobody ends up double-booked on the same morning.
The real firm calendar — day, week and month views with per-surveyor diaries.
How it compares
The live diary vs the ring-around.
A generic calendar app knows when you're busy. It doesn't know what a Level 3 is, where HU5 is, or how to book a paying job into Tuesday.

Why live dates matter
Live dates are the lever you control first.
From 1 August 2026 we no longer set one flat rate per firm — four levers move your rate on both channels, and keeping your diary live is the first one.
Live dates
Give us a real, current diary — this page. It's the lever that turns availability into booked, paid work with no chasing.
Pipeline in our CRM
Run your bookings through the Bookings CRM rather than a spreadsheet on the side.
Fast turnarounds
Deliver quickly and reliably once you're booked in — Performance tracks your own clock.
A live diary is the cheapest lever to pull because it costs you nothing to keep current — and it's the one that lets us book straight in instead of ringing round to check you're free. Do all four levers and you earn the best rate on both channels, locked the moment each job is booked.
See the full maths on the rate ladder on the Join page.
Part of the operating system
One live diary feeds everything else.
The diary isn't a silo. Coverage flows in from the CRM, money moves through Payments, and every booking talks to the rest of your firm's tools.
Bookings CRM
Where coverage, products and the pipeline live. Every diary entry is a job in the CRM with the customer and property attached — one record, two views.
Payments
Jobs booked through the diary arrive with the customer's payment already moving and the fee locked at booking — no invoice chasing on diary work.
The booking confirmation goes out automatically, and any thread that follows lands against the job it belongs to — not lost in a personal inbox.
Customer portal
The homemover watches their booking's status under your firm's branding — which is most of the reason they stop ringing to ask.
Documents & e-sign
Terms of engagement go out with the booking and get chased to signature automatically — signed before the diary entry comes round.
Telephony
For the customers who do still ring — the firm number rings the right people, and the call log sits beside the diary, not on someone's mobile.
Getting started
A live diary in four steps.
Calendars & Requests is included free with every verified Home.co.uk surveyor listing. No subscription, no setup fee — and the first three steps are a one-off.
Step 1
Claim your firm
Most RICS-regulated firms are already listed — search by name or postcode and claim yours. Not there? Register in the same panel.
Step 2
Set coverage & products
Outcodes and survey types per surveyor in the Bookings CRM — the foundation the diary routes jobs on.
Step 3
Shape your weeks
Working hours per surveyor, timeblocks per survey type, leave in advance. Connect Google Calendar or Outlook if you live elsewhere too.
Step 4
Go live
Your open slots start being offered in the booking flow, requests start landing in the inbox — and the diary starts filling itself.
FAQ
Common questions about Calendars & Requests
Your diary & availability
Do I have to keep a separate diary?
No. Your live diary lives on Home.co.uk — every job booked through the platform, whether it came from a Homemove referral or your own profile, lands straight in your firm's calendar with the property attached. There is nothing else to keep open or update by hand.
Where does my diary live and what does it look like?
In your surveyor account, as a full day, week and month calendar. Every surveyor gets their own diary with working hours, time blocks, leave and sickness, and the firm gets a team view — a swimlane showing everyone's free and busy time side by side. It's the same diary our booking flow reads, so what you see is exactly what can be booked.
Who sees my availability?
Only Home.co.uk, to work out when a customer can book you. Your open slots are offered inside the booking flow when someone books a survey in your patch — they are never published as a public page or shared outside that flow. They exist purely to get a real job into your diary.
How does the platform know when I'm free?
From your working hours. The diary takes each surveyor's working hours for the day, subtracts everything that blocks time — booked inspections, leave, sickness, holds, admin blocks and imported external events — and offers what's left as nominal one-hour slots. Times already gone today are excluded automatically. There is no separate availability form to fill in: keep the diary true and the slots take care of themselves.
Does the diary sync with Google Calendar or Outlook?
Yes. Connect a Google Calendar or Outlook account and your external events import into the diary as busy time that blocks bookings — so a dentist appointment in your personal calendar stops a survey being booked over it. The import brings busy time in; it's how we keep your bookable slots honest against the rest of your life.
Bookings, clashes & travel
What stops me being double-booked?
Clash protection is built into the diary. A slot that's already taken by an inspection, a hold, leave or sickness can't be booked again — for any surveyor on the team. When a customer books, they're only ever shown slots that are genuinely free at that moment.
How does travel time between jobs work?
Two ways. The day route measures the actual drive between your bookings in time order — plus the commute from your base at the start of the day and back at the end — using verified road travel times rather than straight-line guesses, and repeated journeys are cached so they cost nothing to re-check. On top of that, each survey type can carry a fixed travel buffer of up to 240 minutes before and after, if you prefer built-in padding. Travel is also a first-class event type in the diary, so the drive can sit visibly in your week.
Can I control which survey types and areas book into my diary?
Yes, per surveyor. Coverage is set by outcode and survey type in the Bookings CRM, so a Level 3 in one patch never lands on someone who only covers Level 2s across town. Each survey type also has its own timeblock — how far ahead it can be booked, its default duration and which weekdays it runs — and firms can set timeblock policies across the team.
What is a hold?
A temporary reservation on a slot — used while a booking is being confirmed. Holds block the slot like any other event, but they carry an expiry: if the booking doesn't complete, the hold lapses and the slot goes straight back on sale. Nothing stays blocked by accident.
The requests inbox
Which jobs land in the requests inbox instead of booking straight in?
The ones that need a human yes — where the customer has asked about availability rather than picked an open slot. The request arrives with the survey type, the property and the customer's preferred dates, and it waits in your requests inbox rather than auto-booking, so nothing is committed to your diary without you.
How do I answer an availability request?
In a tap, either way. Offer one or more dates — today or later — and the customer is notified and picks the one that suits them, which books the job in. Or decline with a reason, and the customer gets a clear answer instead of silence while the request is closed off your account. Either path takes seconds.
What happens if I forget about a request?
The platform nudges you. A request left unanswered for 24 hours is flagged in the Needs Attention panel on your dashboard with how long it's been waiting, and your requests inbox carries a live count of everything unanswered. A customer waiting on a human answer is never left waiting on you by accident.
Is declining a request held against me?
Declining with a reason is the honest path when a job isn't a fit — an edge-of-coverage postcode, a survey type you don't offer, a week that's genuinely full. The customer gets a clear answer quickly and can move on, and the request is closed rather than sitting open against your firm. What matters is answering, not always saying yes.
Cost, team & your rate
What does Calendars & Requests cost?
Nothing. The diary and the requests inbox are part of the free surveyor toolkit that comes with every verified Home.co.uk listing — no subscription, whatever else your firm does or doesn't use on the platform. Jobs booked through the platform carry their fee arrangement as normal; the diary itself is free.
Can each surveyor on my team have their own hours and leave?
Yes. Working hours are set per person, and leave and sickness are recorded per person too — planned leave and unplanned absence both block bookings for that surveyor only. The firm sees everyone side by side in the team availability view, so cover decisions are made by looking, not by ringing round.
Does keeping a live diary really affect my rate?
Yes — it's lever ① of the four-lever rate ladder that sets firm rates on both Homemove panel work and private bookings from 1 August 2026. A live diary is the cheapest lever to pull because it costs nothing to keep current, and it's the one that lets jobs book straight in instead of us ringing round to check you're free. See the full maths on the rate ladder on the Join page.
