How we match you
- We take the branches selling resale homes in your postcode district over the last 24 months, including homes that have since sold, and rank them as our town agent rankings do: only branches with at least 20 listings and 8 agreed sales count. A quiet district is widened to the districts next to it, and we tell you when it is.
- Every branch starts level on how fast it agrees sales and how rarely it cuts prices. What matters most to you counts double, and selling within three months adds weight to speed.
- “The best price” favours branches that cut prices least, because live listings show asking prices, not the price a home finally sold for.
- Your home’s value is matched to the typical asking price of the homes each branch agrees sales on. “Knows my street” favours branches that sell most in your postcode district.
Questions
How does the estate agent quiz choose agents?
We rank the branches selling homes in your postcode district over the last 24 months, from our history of resale listings (including homes that have since sold), using the same method and minimum-sample rules as our town agent rankings. Your answers decide which measures count most: speed, price cuts, the kind of home each branch sells and where it sells.
Why are some agents not shown?
A branch needs at least 20 resale listings around you, and at least 8 agreed sales, before we rank it. Below that, its figures would be noise. Where fewer than three branches qualify in your district, we add the districts next to it, then those within 5 km, and say so. If even that is too thin, we list the busiest agents around you without ranking them.
Is the top match the best agent for me?
It is the best fit on public listing data for what you told us. Interview two or three agents and ask each for evidence before you choose.
Do agents pay to appear in the quiz?
No. The quiz ranks on listing data and your answers only.
