Some 4 miles can eb found the Historic Spa Town of Llandrindod Wells where a wide range of small independent shops can be found. The town has a hospital, train station, 2 large supermarkets, golf course and a boating lake. The whole area around Llandrindod Wells is noted for its stunning scenery and the range of outdoor activities on offer. Rhayader known as the gate way to the Elan Valley, Wales's own Lake District is only some 10 miles away with the seaside university town of Aberystwyth only an hours car drive.
