What this property offers
About this property
The downstairs layout centers around the spacious living/dining space with dramatic stained glass windows, a cosy log burner & access to the other rooms - a stylish kitchen, useful utility room, a snug, office/bedroom 4 & a shower room. To the first floor are 3 bedrooms, a bathroom & practical landing area for additional use.
The transition to an expansive sunlit family home has been handled with real care - balancing original architectural character with a thoughtful modern interior. A masterclass in bridging historic character with contemporary living.
The church building (originally known as Eglwys Genhadol St Deiniol or St Deiniol's Mission Church) was built at the end of the 19th century to serve as a local mission church. Because it was a mission church it was established on a plot of land without an accompanying graveyard. The goal of a great conversion is to respect a building's history. Designers often preserve the original stone masonry, arched entryways & weathered timber doors & floors. This keeps the home looking like a historic landmark from the outside - perfectly blending into its surroundings while hiding a magnificent secret inside. This is so true of this unique home.
Set on an expansive lawned plot with a large parking area & backing onto open countryside. Our sellers say - 'with the beautiful dry stone wall boundaries & hedge lines we feel private. We’ve created spots such as the fire pit area at the back to watch the stars on a clear night and look over the countryside'. Please note a public Right of Way runs along a boundary hedge & across towards the rear boundary.
We asked our sellers some questions:
• Favourite local walk?
'Gors Bodelio is an amazing place for wildlife and wild ponies graze there. It’s about 2 miles there and back or there’s a circular walk that extends to 5 miles. So many beautiful paths to explore and an honesty box for eggs and jam is a good spot!'
• Favourite nearby pub or restaurant?
'Red wharf bay offers some fantastic places to eat, drink and amazing coastal views. The Boathouse and The Ship are both lovely.'
• Why did you choose this spot originally?
'We fell in love with the building and the village didn’t disappoint, the views and the countryside location but being able to access a town within minutes was perfect for our family.'
Please look at the short video to get a taste of this wonderful home & book a viewing!
Talwrn village amenities: Neuadd y Pentre (the local village hall), Siop Bodeilio (community run shop) Cae Chwarae Talwrn (recreation ground complete with a football pitch, playground & picnic areas). The bustling market town of Llangefni is just a 6 minute drive.
