Bakery Close, Fen Ditton, CB5 8TQ
What this property offers
About this property
The property is located in a very special setting, almost in the shadow of the church, and forms part of a small, select development of just three properties. The owners have recently re-fitted the bathroom and en-suite, and the plot offers scope for expansion, subject to obtaining the necessary consents.
Approached over a neat front garden, there is a hallway with a cloakroom off and a door to the inner hallway and kitchen. The kitchen is a good size and fitted with a range of matching floor and wall mounted cabinets. There is a built-in double oven and hob with extractor over, space for a fridge freezer, and space with plumbing for a dishwasher. The adjacent utility room has a second sink, space for further appliances, and plumbing for a washing machine; a door leads out to the rear garden, and an internal door opens to the garage.
The sitting room is spacious and dual aspect with windows to the front and side, there is an open fireplace, wood block flooring, and a door to the study, which would equally make a great playroom or snug. On the ground floor, there is also a generous, dual aspect dining room with views over the garden.
On the first floor the landing has a window over the staircase providing lots of natural light over the stairwell. There is a modern, generously proportioned bathroom and four good sized bedrooms, three doubles and one single, all of which have built in wardrobes/cupboards. The master also benefits from a modern en-suite shower room, fitted with a large walk-in shower, hand-basin, and w.c.
Outside, the approach is green and leafy. There is a shrub bed to the front of the property, and a drive to the side provides parking and gives access to the double garage. The principal gardens are to the side and rear of the property and are private and laid to lawn, interspersed with mature trees and shrubs.
Fen Ditton lies on the north east of Cambridge, with the city centre being just over 3 miles and a 15 minute cycle away and both the train stations around 20 minutes by bike. The new Chisholm Trail cycleway, which is currently under construction will allow fast access to Cambridge North Station, which offers services into Kings Cross in 54 minutes.
The position of the village along the River Cam also allows wonderful walks to both to City of Cambridge and Ely.
Within the village there is a primary school, which feeds into Bottisham Village college and a church. There are three public houses, including two gastro pubs, with The Plough having lovely views over the river Cam. A doctors' surgery, an award-winning butcher and a supermarket are within easy reach of the village.
For the commuter there are excellent links to the M11, A14 and A11.
