How it works
-
Advertised to let agreedFor each home, the days from its first advert to the Let agreed its agent posted on the portals.
-
The last 12 monthsHomes let agreed in the past year, each counted once, so the figure reflects the market now.
-
Fair figures onlyGroups under 20 homes are left out. A quiet district shows its wider postcode area, and says so.

Common questions
How long does it take to let a property?
Across the UK, half of homes let agreed in the last 12 months went within about two to three weeks of first being advertised. It varies by area, type of home and season. Enter your postcode above for your district's figure.
How is time to let measured?
From the date a home was first advertised to the Let agreed date its letting agent posted on the property portals, for homes let agreed in the last 12 months, each home counted once. The median is the middle figure, so a few slow lets do not skew it.
Why does it show a wider area for my postcode?
We only show a figure built on at least 20 homes let agreed. When a postcode district has fewer, we show its whole postcode area instead and say so. Types of home with fewer than 20 lets are left out.
Does let agreed mean the tenant has moved in?
No. Let agreed is when the agent marks the advert as taken. Referencing, the tenancy agreement and the move-in date follow after that.
How can I let my home faster?
Price it in line with similar homes nearby, with good photos and a floor plan. Check your rent with our free rent valuation, and ask a local letting agent how quickly homes like yours go on your street.
