Lying on a sun lounger in her beautiful, verdant garden, the owner of the house on Beaufort Gardens thinks back across the past four decades at her Ascot home with nothing but fondness. “We have got so many wonderful memories that we will take with us when we leave,” she muses. “This has been such a very happy home in so many ways. More than anything, I think I will miss the garden. We have lavished such a lot of love and attention on it, planting lots of perennial shrubs and trees to ensure it is lovely and green all year round. It is so peaceful and private – and we live out there as much as we possibly can. We have breakfast under the parasol when it is warm and cook on the barbecue on summer evenings – and we love nothing more than relaxing on our sun loungers. It has become our own little piece of England.”
