"We’ve enjoyed living in this house, it was our first house we bought and has seen us through our wedding and our first child. It is well connected and while living here between us we’ve commuted by bike/public transport to Aztec West and the city centre, and by car both North and South on the M5 to Gloucester and Somerset. Despite that, we often walk down gloucester road to enjoy the independent shops, eateries and cafes.
We’re proud that our planting in the front garden is establishing into a lovely place with year round interest and requiring minimal maintenance.
The ground floor kitchen diner is very sociable and great for entertaining, especially in summer when it is great to open the doors all the way out to the garden. Most visitors twig after a while that there’s no TV downstairs, ask us where it is and then are surprised to find our comfortable, cosy living room on the first floor. The rear garden is south facing getting the sun all day long. It is fantastic for summer barbecues. We’ve put in the borders, path and raised beds which have been very productive for growing vegetables, but could easily be turned over to decorative planting. Outside of the garden there is a shared garden area to the side of the carpark which is often used by residents for picnics, or for children to play. The three bedrooms are all spacious and we’re currently using the smallest as a work-from-home office for both of us, and our sewing and music room. We’ve decided we need our own spaces to work from so we’re up-sizing. The house is well insulated, in winter the heating doesn’t need to work much to keep the house comfortable and is only minimally needed between spring and autumn (our gas and electric bill is £140 per month)."
