Southwold (9 miles), is a superb seaside town famed for its painted beach huts, iconic 19th century lighthouse and pier. There is a wonderful selection of boutique stores, cafés, restaurants and public houses. Cultural amenities include an independent cinema and the Southwold Arts Centre. Adnams, Suffolk's most well-known brewery, is based in the town.

The Croft benefits from easy access to the A12 (2 miles). Darsham Railway Station (3 miles) has trains to London via Ipswich (from 122 minutes); Saxmundham Railway Station (7 miles) provides trains to London via Ipswich (from 115 minutes).
